I am currently leading a few data science teams at Grab. We develop algorithms and machine learning models to fight fraud, protect user safety, detect financial risk and also provide personalized experience on the super app.

My interests include exploring the frontiers of AI technologies, extracting meaningful insights from data and creating social and business impact. My focus is to make systems WORK.

I helped set up Lenovo's Machine Intelligence Lab in Hong Kong, which brings advanced AI technologies into production. I was one of the early member in Noah's Ark Lab, which is now the largest AI lab in Huawei. I spent a short stay working on mobile ads in Baidu . I have also co-founded two AI start-ups, one in generic AI solution for financial industry and the other in computer vision.

I obtained my Ph.D. in Computer Science from HKUST and my bachelor was in Automatic Control from Tsinghua University.
